Blue Mountains Freecycle

Blue Mountains Freecycle is part of the Freecycle network that uses the internet to give away unwanted goods . "It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by local volunteers (them's good people). Membership is free"

Eco Choices - Living with Less Waste

The Council is running free Eco Choices (Living With Less Waste) courses.

The course includes practical workshops, tours, sharing ideas and advice to help you live more sustainably.

Eco Choices is a revamped version of the old Earth Works course with new formatting, new information and a whole new workshop - "All About Stuff".

Available Workshops:

  • All About Stuff (You must participate in this one before the other workshops)
  • Detox Your Home
  • Composting
  • Worm Farming
  • Eco Gardening
  • Tour of a Waste Management Facility

Other workshops are being developed which will explore energy and water saving/management in your home garden.

  • Receive a free compost bin or discounted worm farm (upon completion of 5 workshops)
  • Gain skills and confidence
  • Meet like-minded people
  • Share ideas and Have fun!
  • Do one workshop or all of them, it's up to you.
